All owners of the ELSA Victory Erazor TV-In/Out and ELSA Erazor 3 TV-In/Out can find Tips&Tricks for decoding crypted channels in Nagra/Syster and Videocrypt. I've written this site, because many users posted topics in different boards about diffculties in runnig those cards. So here you can find als answers to your questions!

But first I have to say that the following Tips&Tricks are not to be used for watching crypted channels without paying for it! Its purposes are pure scientific!

Which software runs with Erazor-cards?

MarDec 4.5	This is the full version of the commercial decoder. It's written by a polish coder who wants 50,- DM for it. But you need not buying it anymore, because here you can get it for FREE! This program is especially for Erazor3-cards pretty good!	*****	Click	916 KB
MarDec Demo 2	This program doesn't crash your system in opposition to Demo 4.5 so you may install it without problems. But the results aren't the best ones although it should work on all systems without having green lines!.	**	Click	885 KB
MoreTV-Erazor 1.28	Actually the best decoder for Nagra/Syster for the Erazor-cards. It's quality is equal to MarDec 4.5 Full.	*****	Click	92,3 KB

Where can get these programs?

If you need programs for other TV-cards than the Erazor then you should visit this site http://freetv.notricks.de or the ones mentioned above. Otherwise just click on the direct downloads above!

How can I make them run?

If you can receive a Nagra/Syster or Videocrypt encrypted channel start one of the decoder. At first I would try MoreTV-Erazor 1.28. If it fails to run then try to install the newest Video In/Out driver.
You can download the newest version in the Download Area. These drivers should work with the Victory Erazor and the Erazor3. You can also capture directly in MJPG with these drivers.

MarDec 4.5 Vollversion

(Interactive picture: move your cursor above the tabs!)
MarDec supports only Erazor-cards. Though you should achieve the best results with this program. I've published the full version of this program, so you don't need to pay for it anymore!

MoreTV-Erazor 1.28

This programs quality is equal to MarDec 4.5 full. You should get constant 25fps. The TV-Out mode works, too. Just set the output to '640x480 TV-Out'.
Tip: The most decoders accept the parameter 'Quick'. With this parameter set they'll start immediately.

MoreTV-Erazor 2.00

This version works with BT-cards and Erazor-cards. Compared to MoreTV-Erazor 1.28 the color is better and the decoder is faster. But it often crashes. Some Erazor3-owners report that it doesn't work with their configuration. So you gotta try it.

ExoTV 4.55

Since version 4.3 is out the support for the Victory Erazor is nearly as good as with MoreTV-Erazor 1.28! If you consider that the coder has no Victory Erazor at home it's really good work. This program decodes Nagra/Syster and Videocrypt.
Tips: 'Erazor Card 384', 'Use 288 Lines', 'Windowed YUV HQ', 'High Priority', '25 Testlines', '257 Row Offset', 'Hide Black Lines', 'Use Turbo-Decoder'.
For Erazor3 crads there is an extra mode, now!

hVCPlus 0.70.1

This is a very good Videocrypt decoder that works with Erazor-cards.
Tip: Look for the Readme to get tips!

What should I do if I only see green lines?

Some Erazor3-owners report green lines instead of a TV picture. It seems that it's a bug in the drivers but it's not sure. Try to solve the programs by updating your system with the newest drivers!

 A. For ELSA Victory Erazor (PCI or AGP)
    - MMX(TM)-CPU with at least 166 MHz, PII at 450 MHz recommended
    - at least 32 MB RAM, 64 MB recommended
    - Win95/98/SE, the SE-version may cause some problems
    - DirectX V 7.0 or newer
    - Graphics-card-BIOS V 1.55.00
    - Newest Display-driver for Victory Erazor (www.elsa.de)
    - VideoIn-driver V 3.1.0.8 or V 3.2.0.6

 B. For ELSA Erazor III with Video In/Out
    - MMX(TM)-CPU, at least PII, PIII at 450 MHz recommended
    - 64 MB RAM
    - DirectX V 7.0 or newer
    - Grphics-card-BIOS V 3.05.00
    - Newest Display-driver for Erazor III (www.elsa.de)
      (V 4.12.01.0106-0002)
    - Newest VideoIn-driver (V 3.2.0.6)

How do I connect my Erazor to a TV?

There are two ways of how to connect your Erazor to a TV: A simple Conection directly to your TV and an extended Connection which gives you the possibility to record the output with a VCR.
